Last night, I made the trip to Charlotte, with a couple of photography buddies, to attend David Zisers "Captured by the Light" tour. After a few fire drills we were able to start the seminar. The seminar was great. Along with the seminar, there were prizes. And I was lucky enough to win a one-year membership to Professional Photographers of America! This is a great benefit and I cannot wait to start using it!

Sunrise on Ocracoke
Last July our family, along with one of our neighbors, journeyed to Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina to camp at the State Park. The first evening we arrived, my neighbor and I decided we would get up early and take some pictures of the sunrise on the beach. Now, I’m definitely NOT a morning person, but I am so happy I did not let the opportunity pass. There is NOTHING like seeing the sunrise on the beach, if you haven’t already seen one, I suggest you add it to your bucket list.
Below are some of the shots I captured.
My Beautiful Daughter!
Last Friday, I had the pleasure of spending the day with my awesome daughter. We declared it Mommy/Daughter day and we had a blast. We played putt-putt, went bowling, had ice cream, went out to lunch and got her hair cut. After the haircut I couldn't resist taking pictures of her. Here are my two favorites!

Fireworks
Over the last month or so my work schedule has not allowed me to post some images I've taken. So, let's start with fireworks from The Fourth of July and catch up on some posts :)
The Fourth of July fireworks have ALWAYS been a challenge for me. But, this year, I challenged myself to take my tripod and get some good shots of the fireworks. We were closer than normal to the fireworks this year, so I had to only get shots of the fireworks in the sky, I couldn't include any foreground. Here are some of the shots. Enjoy!

Ribbit!
Last night while enjoying some fun family time outside with my husband and daughter, my daughter pointed out the cutest little toad. So, Meg goes over to pick it up and play with it before our younger dog could eat it. What do you think I did??? If you guessed I hurried to get my camera, you are right! After playing around with him for a little bit and him finally staying still long enough for me to take his picture, this is what I got. I think he's very photogenic, what do you think?

Castle McCulloch
Tuesday night, I had the pleasure of participating in a photography meetup at Castle McCulloch in High Point. The model costumes were great and really added to the ambiance of the castle. Here are a few of the shots from my visit. If you are interested in visiting Castle McCulloch, you can visit their website here

Photography Meetup 6/22/10
While I'm going through pictures and trying to find decent ones to put on my blog, I'm also going to post pictures/slideshows from Photography meetups I attend. The pictures in the slideshow below are from a meetup at The Hayloft in McCleansville, NC. A great little place. They host weddings. Visit their website here. For now, take a look at the shots I got from the meetup. Enjoy!

My Very First Official Post
Welcome! This post is a long time coming. After concentrating on my Photography over the last year or so, I feel it's time for me to start with a blog. My first problem or roadblock has been what to blog about? Can I do this? I'm not good at writing, I'm good at taking pictures.
So to start out with this Photography blog thing, I'm going to work on putting up some pictures and creating my ever-growing never ending Photography portfolio. It will take a few weeks for me to weed through all my pictures and post the best ones, but eventually it will be done. Stay tuned!
